EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SHARPSBURG NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATION

Brittany Reno leads the Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization —  a resident-driven community development organization that works to strengthen and engage community members through volunteer projects, equity-building initiatives and regional advocacy. Projects she’s overseen include the launch of a resident-centered eco-district plan alongside the sustainable design firm evolveEA. Other initiatives are focused on improving and expanding green technology infrastructure — as well as resident access to multimodal transit, affordable housing, economic opportunity, and nature. 

Reno’s multi-municipal cooperative work includes chairing CONNECT — the Congress on Neighboring Communities); serving on the advisory committee for the Triboro Ecodistrict initiative and on the board of directors for theTriCOG Land Bank and Cooper-Siegel Community Library, which oversees public libraries that serve Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana, O’Hara and Sharpsburg. She’s also on the joint shade tree commission of Blawnox, Etna, and Sharpsburg.
