PCRG 2023 Community Development Summit!

Got ideas? Inspiring lessons to share? Or transforming programs or initiatives that build equity – equality for minority and low-income communities!

PCRG's Community Development Summit has become the region’s leading event where ideas are shared, lessons are learned, and partnerships are formed in the name of creating accessible, thriving communities for all.

The Summit's theme continues as there is still important work to do. [Re]defining Equity, Equality, and Justice participants have opportunities to learn about initiatives, programs, and advocacy that are currently taking place, the plans, and how to define what success means when it comes to Racial Equality.

Pittsburgh, like many rust belt cities, had to reinvent itself and is a success story in many ways. But our story is still being written, like most American cities, it is built on antiquated systems and institutions that are the legacy of redlining which are fundamentally biased toward people of color, women, and low to moderate-income individuals, as well as those with disabilities. The 2020 census data shows we lost 12% of our working black residents, while our medium income has grown, indicating the socioeconomic, racial, and gender divides are only growing. Leaders in our field are thirsty for a genuine discussion, to learn how others like you are changing this dynamic, leading to action that finally delivers real equity to our marginalized Black residents.

We seek submissions that collectively address these issues comprehensively, and continue to foster positive change. We are looking for sessions that focus on actions, programs, and advocacy this year. Building on the wealth of information from the past summits Our attendees want to learn what initiatives are working or how implantation is moving the collective community into a future that is built in Racial Equality.
