Dear Rep. [INSERT NAME],

I’m a resident of [YOUR DISTRICT] writing to urge your support for HB 1429, a piece of legislation that will increase funding for the Neighborhood Assistance Program from $36 to $72 million, so that more of Pennsylvania’s communities can access the resources they need to thrive.

NAP is the lifeblood of Pittsburgh’s community development system. It enables many of our community development corporations and community-based organizations to carry out innovative, neighborhood-transforming programs that attract private dollars to multiply public investment. This true public-private partnership needs more resources to continue and expand this great work.

Additionally, the credit rate scales should be brought to parity with the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to improve its attractiveness to the tax credit investor. Supporting this will increase the NAP tax credit pool and do just that.

For all these reasons, I urge you to please support the passage of HB 1429 and commit to increasing the state’s investment in the NAP.
