Community & Bankers Council | Facilitating dialogue between 22 bank leaders and community stakeholders to drive inclusive neighborhood investment, $8 billion in LMI.

Since 1988, PCRG has worked with Pittsburgh’s major lending institutions and public agencies to develop innovative reinvestment programs targeting Pittsburgh’s low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. PCRG’s programs focus on eradicating predatory lending in Allegheny County, advocating for reinvestment in its neighborhoods, and researching and analyzing its banks’ practices.

Vacant Property Working Group | Advocating for land use policies that reverse blight and promoted 1000 affordable homes.

In 1988, PCRG became the host to the Vacant Property Working Group (VPWG), working to simplify the process of recycling title to abandoned and tax delinquent properties. The results of having the VPWG are some great policy wins over the years: creation of The Pittsburgh Land Bank, Municipal Claims Tax Lien Law (MCTLL), Tri-party Agreement, Advocating for Taxing Bodies Agreement

Developers’ Roundtable | Mentoring 14 minority and women developers who have advanced $75M in affordable housing (160 units), with a pipeline of 275 more units. This initiative fosters equity in real estate development and expands minority-led housing solutions.

Created in 2018 to address the financial challenges of building low-income housing in Pennsylvania, the Developers’ Roundtable advocates for policy changes in building efficiency, an increase building yield, and to strengthen the relationships between affordable housing/market developers and community development organizations. Building these relationships help to create reciprocal discussions that educate local communities and developers about the challenges in building communities of choice for all local residents, as well as formulating solutions to neighborhood problems that shape local neighborhood communities.

Environmental Justice Roundtable | Created in 2022 for member organizations around the county to convene, collaborate, and promote shared interests on sustainable and equitable community development practices in the region.

PCRG’s long-standing role in promoting equitable outcomes in Allegheny County has allowed for the generation of a multisectoral network of stakeholders, experts, and resource providers that can be used to open channels of communication between community development and environmental justice actors, government, academia, and the private sector. These channels help to increase knowledge on environmental justice practices and policies and allow the Roundtable to function as an advocacy coalition.
